Real-time Ethernet and fieldbus communication

EtherCAT – Real-time Ethernet
The real-time Ethernet fieldbus EtherCAT is characterized by a high level of performance, little wiring effort and openness to other logs. The complicated Ethernet star topology can be replaced with a simple line structure by using EtherCAT. Expensive infrastructure components (switches) can thus be spared, but can optionally be integrated in order to incorporate other participants. EtherCAT thus makes it possible and also economically sensible to integrate Ethernet up to the I/O level.
